Too Fast Too Soon
-Fashion film
Sound design created entirely in post-production, using archival recordings from one of the first New York gay parades in 1970 to reflect themes of chaos, conflict, and unresolved injustice.
Too Fast Too Soon is a fashion film about the tension of fighting over something broken while the ones who broke it stay out of the conflict. The entire soundscape was created in post-production, with no on-site recordings — building and shaping the audio to reflect the film’s themes of chaos and confrontation.
Using snippets from the original recordings of one of the first New York gay parades in 1970, the film draws a line between past and present, showing how many of the struggles voiced back then remain unresolved today. These voices remind of a reality where people keep fighting each other instead of going after those who actually profit from the chaos — the ones creating division to keep systemic issues alive and the masses distracted and disempowered.
